But just to be sure...

A long long long time ago, in a galaxy far far away, there was a planet called Cybertron. Or rather, a planet that would come to be called Cybertron. Way back when, before most life started on the planet, Cybertron was inhabited by the native species known as Predacons. Unfortunately nothing is known about how they lived way back then. All we know is that, similar to Earth's dinosaurs, at some point that entire species was wiped out by the Great Cataclysm.

Cue millions of years later and the great Civil War between the now modern Cybertronians that have split into two factions: Autobots and Decepticons. The leader of the Decepticons, Megatron, wanted an advantage over his enemies. So he convinced his great scientist, Shockwave, to clone him an army of Predacons from remains found on the planet. Shockwave managed to find a way to clone the beasts from the ancient DNA he found in their bones, and the cloning proved successful. A small army of them was sent to earth to attack the Autobots stationed there, as well as to safe-guard the Energon reserves there. Unfortunately the beasts were eventually lost to the ravages of time, and the war continued on as shown in the show.

When Shockwave became stranded on a dead Cybertron, he once again picked up with his Predacon cloning, eventually creating one that he took to Earth with him, when he met up once again with Megatron's forces. This beast, known as Predaking, was a great ally in defeating the Autobots, and retrieving more bones for cloning another army of Predacons. But unfortunately this wasn't meant to be. As after Predaking showed his sentience, the clones were all ordered destroyed and the lab was blown up by the unwitting Autobots.

Eventually, thanks to Ratchet, Predaking would find out about the set up, and turn on Megatron, leading to the Autobots winning the war once and for all. But Starscream and Shockwave managed to escape before the Autobots could capture them. They set up shop on the newly restored Cybertron and of course their plan to was to clone more Predacons for an army to take back Cybertron in Megatron's memory and name. Because clearly working with Predacons had worked SO WELL in the past. Anyway, due to the constraints of having no infrastructure, and having to almost constantly move to avoid detection, Shockwave could only clone one at a time.

This first clone was brought online at some point, and came to be known as Skylynx. Skylynx was sent with Starscream to search the planet for more Predacon bones in which to clone more Predacons. Eventually, Skylynx would be joined by Darksteel. The first time we see the two is in the Sea of Rust, where they were scavenging for possible bones. Instead they were interrupted by Ultra Magnus and Smokescreen. Battle ensued, and Skylynx would cause serious damage to Ultra Magnus to the point that the mech was out of the fight for good.

The plan to clone the army seemed to be going as planned, if slowly. But none of them could know what was in store for them in the coming days. Eventually the two clones would score the proverbial goldmine, if you will, when they found an ancient Predacon burial ground full of bones. Everything was going fine, until Unicron showed up and decided to turn the remains into an undead army with which to destroy Primus. Shockwave, Starscream, Skylynx and Darksteel were overwhelmed by Unicron and his undead army. While Starscream fled like a coward, Shockwave and the clones stayed behind at the burial ground.

Eventually they were joined by Predaking, who quickly asserted his leadership over Skylynx and Darksteel. The trio of Predacons were then sent by Shockwave, who some how survived being pounced upon and tore at by a horde of Predacon-Terrorcons, to where their might be more useful. They met up with the bots in mid-battle, helping to take down many of their undead brethren. After the Nemesis was brought down by the undead army, the Predacons joined up with the Autobots, and, after a brief pause, rushed out to take on the hoard that was headed for the Well of AllSparks to destroy Primus.

The three Predacons managed to hold them off briefly, but were quickly overwhelmed by the numbers of Terrorcons, and dragged down the Well with them toward the core. Eventually of course the Autobots were able to defeat Unicron and trap his anti-spark, which caused the undead army to explode to pieces. The three resurfaced from the well, and after talking to the 'bots, followed Starscream, who had retreated like a coward again, to Darkmount where the three confronted him with some scores to be settled.

*Personality: Of the two clones that Shockwave created on Cybertron after the war was lost, Skylynx is the older one, and he certainly acts it. Unlike lighthearted Darksteel, Skylynx is far more gruff. While even he still makes the occasional joke, and shows a sense of humor, he's more dry about it. His sense of humor, as a whole, tends to be dry, and can come off as such. But even if it's dry, he will occasionally throw out a punchline every once in a while. But more often than not, he tends to leave the joking around to the actual jokers.

Overall, though, Skylynx is rather bitter and sour when it comes to most things. This is due to the fact that Starscream abused him, very often using an Energon prod whenever angry, to keep him under his control and make him submit to him. Skylynx being the first clone, suffered this for longer. As a consequence, he's not big on speaking up unless he needs to, and, unless he's joking, tends to be straight to the point. He's also not very smart, though this is likely more due to his lack of any real experience outside of scavenging bones and fighting.

Being a predator, he tends to lean heavily on things controlled by instinct. In battle he's a ferocious fighter, like any predator, and will stop at nothing until his enemy is lying dead at his feet. While he can fight fiercely in his robot mode, he tends to be more ferocious in his beast mode, sionce this is when he tends to lean the most heavily on instinct. But still, he's not perfect at battle, due to not having a ton of experience, but more often than not, manages to defeat enemies.

He can also be a very loyal Predacon, when he has the right leader to be loyal to. The one he's loyal to, he will follow willingly into battle, and even to the death if he respects them enough. This is especially true to fellow Predacons, who he tends to trust more than he does other Cybertronians. Around other Predacons, he tends to let down the gruff side more, and almost be down right gentle. He can be protective over other Predacons, and will stick by their side no matter what. Especially since back on Cybertron, there was really only the three of them. They had to stick together, no matter what happened to them.

Being all he's known is life on Cybertron, Skylynx knows nothing about humans and other organics, and will likely be very distrusting of them when he first meets them. Since he likely won't even know what they are to start with.

In fact, considering the Cybertron he lived on was mostly devoid of life, except for a handful of Autobots, Decepticons and the three Predacons. And since he was sent only to search for bones since his being brought online. It's safe to assume he doesn't know much at all of Cybertronian culture. But despite his gruff exterior, he does have a willingness to learn more than what Starscream and Shockwave have taught him.

*Powers/Abilities:

Transformation: Despite being from a species that was around long before modern Cybertronians. Skylynx retains the ability to transform his body into two modes. He has a bi-pedal robot mode which is huge just by height. He likely stands taller than Megatron, and even Optimus Prime at likely 40+ feet tall. he also has his beastmode, that of a Cybertronian dragon like creature, which is even larger, standing at around 50 feet high, and likely 50-60 feet long, with a wingspan of at least a football field wide(Predaking's was said to be two football fields wide).

Flight: In beast mode, like the dragons of human legend, he is capable of flying. Despite how his wings probably make little sense in letting him fly. He's a pretty capable flyer as well, able to sustain flight for long periods, and even able to battle in midair. Also, like a bird, he has great eyesight from the air, able to spot even the smallest shape on the ground. From a person, to a set of tracks they left.

Strength: Skylynx is at least around 5x stronger than your average Cybertronian. In beast mode in the movie, he's able to throw around 30+ foot tall Ultra Magnus like he was nothing more than a chew toy. It's unfortunately not shown in the movie. But based on Predaking, it could probably be easily assumed that he's nearly as strong as that even in robot mode.

Durability: His his beast mode is capable of taking multiple shots from a fusion canon and barely have a scratch on it. However, with enough brute strength and hitting the right spots, he can be taken down. His robot mode is a little more vulnerable than his robotmode, as a fusion canon shot at close enough range, can penetrate the armor.

Weaponry: In beast mode his primary weapon is that he can shoot fire from his jaws. This breath can by hotter than the planet Mercury, which has a temperature of 700 kelvin in the highs(or 427 degrees Celsius/800 degrees Fahrenheit) at daytime. Which adds up to some pretty hot breath. Outside of that, his beast mode also features very sharp claws, likely capable of penetrating armor. And razor sharp teeth in his jaws, capable of inflicting serious injuries. In robot most he still has the claws, and even though it's not shown, he likely has built in blasters like Predaking does.

*Inventory: Nothing at all except himself.

*Starting Polarity: Vector Prime

If AU, how does your character differ from canon?:

Writing Samples

*First Person Sample: Optional Prompt: Your best friend/ally/accomplice/favorite minion has gone missing, and you suspect they're on the planet somewhere. Make a broadcast that indicates your need for their return, and describes this individual to help others identify them.

[There's some fiddling with the device, before the video feed finally flickers on. Showing a pair of yellow eyes, peering into the camera at close range, before the holder pulls back to show his face.]

I am looking for my brethren. [Robotic eyebrows shift as as he tilts his head.]

His name is Darksteel, and I have not seen him in many days. He is blue and silver with an orange face, and as large as I am. His wings are folded on his back. He would be hard to miss.

If you see him. Tell him Skylynx is looking for him.

[It's short and to the point. But that's all that's needed. He simply cuts the feed to await answer.]

*Third Person Sample: Optional Prompt: You wake up in the middle of a vast, unfamiliar, rocky terrain, underneath a strange sky. Who do you call for? What do you do?

There was a low groan as Skylynx came to once again. His optics blinking open for a moment, before they pop open wide, and he quickly pushes himself up in sitting. He rubs at his head for a moment. When did he pass out? Last thing he remembered was talking to Starscream and Shockwave about finding more bones. He shook his head for a moment, before he actually took a look at his surroundings as he let his hand drop to his side.

But all he could see around him was vast open terrain. Not event a single ruined building around him to be found. He quickly climbs to his feet, wings lifting on his back as he comes fully alert, eyes narrowing. Where was he? Where was..?

"Darksteel?" He quickly glances around again to see if he can spot the other Predacon. But there's no sign of him. Nor of Starscream or Shockwave. But what he can see now, are distant shapes. Buildings perhaps?

His eyes narrow some more, as he thinks it over. Standing here wasn't going to get anything done. For all he knows there's Autobots waiting to pounce. With a low growl in his systems, he quickly transforms into his beast mode, and with a powerful beat of his wings he takes to the skies. He headed for the shapes in the distance. They had to be something. However he kept his eyes to the ground as he flew, looking for any sign of his missing comrades.

If that was where they were, then that is where he'll find them. Then perhaps he could get some answers of what this place was.

Final Notes: Hahaha....I have a feeling you guys might be powering down his powers/abilities some maybe. But if you have to, it's understandable. As for his beast mode size, if it's an issue with like getting into the temples/other buildings, I could just do it like ion the movie/show, where he enters in robot mode, and beast mode is for outside only.
